Join the call as we partner with our affiliate, the Greater Phoenix Urban League at the annual Arizona Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Festival. It will be held at Margaret T. Hance Park from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM on Monday, January 20. This family friendly festival is an event for the community to enjoy local entertainment, purchase goods and services from small businesses, and learn about community service organizations, like the Greater Phoenix Urban League Young Professionals. During the festival, YP volunteers will be talking with festival attendees about GPUL opportunities such as the Summer Youth Program, and about YP membership and upcoming events. All materials, promotional material, and talking points will be provided to volunteers.
Interested volunteers should register for a volunteer shift(s). Volunteer shifts are available from 9:30 AM - 4:30 PM. Each shift is in 1 hour increments. You are welcome to sign up for multiple shifts.
Optional Attire: YP swag* (T-Shirt, Jacket, Hat, etc..), comfortable shoes. This is a rain or shine event, so please pay attention to weather forecasts and dress appropriately.
Volunteer Responsibilities:
- Help expedite the event and assist with set-up/take down.
- Connect with our community!
- Host a table to share information on Greater Phoenix Urban League initiatives, available community service opportunities, and upcoming YP Events (Join Week, and upcoming events, etc.)*
- Speak with potential members of YP*
- Goal: Minimum of two (2) volunteers on each shift
